This show was at The Concert Factory in Costa Mesa, The infamous old Cuckoo's Nest. This might have been the one show I went to there.  I only have a vague memory of being outside the famed hall.

Jill Dascomb took this photo and gave it to me. I've known Jill since... well forever.  Once back in the 90's she called me and said she was going to mail me all the photos she had because she knew I would take care of them. Sadly it never happened.  I know she took hundreds of photos. Back in those days every person didn't have a camera like it is today.  I asked her a year or so ago about the photos but nothing yet.... Crossing my fingers that one day she will share them with us.

This is the first part of a house party tape that I have. Sound quality is getting alot better vs the Black Sunrise tapes. The Cone Of Silence played mostly original songs with a couple of cover songs.   A while back I asked David Carey to tell me who wrote what songs so I could have the proper credits here but he is quite busy these days. If I had to guess who wrote these two I'd say "Saw It In A Dream" was mostly written by Brian and "My Boss" was mostly T. However I'm just guessing.

This is the second handbill I have for Dave Carey's The Cone Of Silence. I was a roadie for this show. I believe we only had 2 of us that night. If I remember right it was me and John Sanders. I mainly remember John Hiatt bored me outta my mind. He had the place pretty packed. He was building up a fanatical following. At the time he was hailed as the "next" Bruce Springsteen. Maybe if I enjoyed Bruce more I would have enjoyed it more.

This is the first handbill I have for The Cone Of Silence.  I think they got together & started to rehearse back in January or February 1982.

This one I didn't go to.  I was still a year away from going  I do remember this show happening though. We lived a short distance from this site and I remember driving with my Dad and his wife past this place and the area was jammed. I remember I knew what was happening there and my Brother Jim was going.

Here's a Anxietea party handbill. Here's what David Cristofaro  said of the band's timeline. "Our first party was on Dave Carey's 19th Birthday Jan 2, 1981 and we played together until November of 1981...we were done shortly after my daughter was born Sept 16 1981."  David Cristofaro.

I remember the summer of 1981 being one of the funnest I ever had.  I spent a good portion of it in Anaheim crashing at my Brother's or Tony Zamora's or Jim Maxfield's or David Carey's place.  I remember one week Anxietea played 3 or 4 shows in one week.  They were so much fun. Looking back I'd compare them to The Faces. Just a Rock & Roll party. Nothing serious of heavy. Just have a good time.
