I was with Jim when he bought the old TV Guides he has on this segment. Paul Carey turned me onto this great store in Fullerton called The Comic Book Castle in the 80's. I used to go there most Saturday's and I took Jim there. They had lots of great stuff. Comic Books of course but lots and lots of old magazines. Saddly it burned down.

Me & Jim Maxfield went to this show.
Their drummer Jimmy is probably the best I ever seen.

Here is a great version of the Bee Gees song "Staying Alive". Wow I never thought I'd ever say that! I knew Mike, Justin & Jimmy through work. I used to have them do all of my color printing for about 10 years (1989 - 1999). Their music is alot heavier than anything I would listen to but this rocks.

"Live at the Anti-Cub in Hollywood CA. March 14, 1987. This is a song we did for fun with Rich Coffee on a night we were playing with Thee Fourgiven. I think we only rehearsed it one time with Rich, so it's pretty loose. I believe we only played it live two other times one being on the closing night of Greg Shaw's Cavern Club." Paul Carey

Check out Rich Coffee's website. I have a link posted on the "Other Web Sites" section.

Show Information:

This listing is for the first ever Jane's Addiction show.

They were incorrectly billed as "James Addiction" in the ad for this show.

Jane's opened for a band called Love 'N' Terror.

The following is taken (incorrect spelling included) from page 3 of an early band bio submitted to Warner Bros. by the group.

Their first show was out of town in Orange County. It was "old dog night". All old dogs were let in free. They were booked with a top fourty cover band, who invited their I.B.M. friends from work to see them. "Jane's" got up and emptyed the place. There was one guy with a beard who stayed. They never learned the beard headed man's name, but they did discuss their differences, Leaving the band, the bartender, and the booker. The next show was at the Roxy. They were to support some faggy english band who they killed. They were great except for one thing, they stunk.

They couldn't have possibly have mistaken Love & Terror for a Top Forty band. Was there another band there that night? Or just trying to embellish the truth?
